Robert M. Hanak, Esq.
For nearly 50 years, Attorney Robert M. Hanak has been representing, advising and assisting Western Pennsylvania residents, families, business and financial institutions. As an experienced and highly successful litigator, Bob was one of the first 200 lawyers in the country to be recognized by the National Board of Trial Advocacy for board certification as a civil trial advocate. Currently Bob’s practice is focused on the areas of estate planning and administration, wills and trusts, business law and natural resource law. Bob’s experience and ability have been recognized by his peers who have awarded him a Martindale Hubbel rating of AV™, the highest available.
In his estate practice, Bob has provided planning and administration for numerous estates with values in the seven and eight figure range. He is also regularly called upon by various financial institutions to provide legal guidance and client services on complex estate and trust issues.
Bob’s experience in the natural resource field includes advocacy in numerous significant Pennsylvania appellate court cases that have helped shape Commonwealth law regarding oil, gas and coal rights. He has been involved in all phases of natural resource development, including title examination, acquisition, leasing, development, transportation and sale on behalf of landowners, royalty holders and developers.
Over the years, scores of successful area businesses have relied on Bob for advice and representation in all phases of business law, including formation, financing, acquisition, merger, business valuation and sale, shareholder disputes, taxation issues and business litigation. His experience derives not only from his education and work on behalf of clients, but also as the sole or participating owner of numerous businesses.
Bob is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh which he attended on a football scholarship. He received his juris doctorate degree from Dickinson Law School and was awarded his Pennsylvania law license in 1966. Bob has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Federal Court.
Anthony S. Guido
Anthony S. Guido is an attorney with the Hanak, Guido and Taladay Law Firm in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Attorney Guido focuses primarily on Business Law, Estate Planning, and Real Estate Law, and has been serving the Tri-County area for over 50 years.
Attorney Guido graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1956 and Dickinson School of Law in 1959. Attorney Guido has been admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania since 1961.
Matthew B. Taladay
Attorney Matthew Taladay has over 28 years of experience, primarily focused in the area of trial advocacy. Matt has tried well over 100 civil jury trials to verdict with an exemplary success record. Matt has represented hundreds of parties in diverse civil cases, including serious personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, breach of contract, breach of warranty and premises liability. Since 2006, Matt has been recognized as board certified by the National Board of Civil Trial Advocacy.
Matt’s practice also includes providing representation and advice to business clients ranging from small family-owned businesses to multi-million dollar corporations. His services range from business formation and capitalization, acquisition, real estate transactions, succession planning, shareholder disputes and business valuation and sale.
Matt also oversees the firm’s real estate practice where he assists buyers and sellers of property ranging from residential to complex commercial transactions. He is an authorized title insurance agent for Penn Attorneys.
As an adjunct to his law practice, Matt has recently branched out into the areas of mediation and alternate dispute resolution. He has successfully completed the mediation training course sponsored by the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and is approved by this Court to serve as a mediator, arbitration and early neutral evaluator. Matt’s vast experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of legal matters, provides him with a unique perspective and qualification to assist parties in the resolution of disputes.
Matt is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and received his juris doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. Matt is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and has been admitted pro hac vice to the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Matt is currently serving as vice president of the Jefferson County Bar Association.
Nicole Hanak Bankovich
Nicole Hanak Bankovich is an attorney with the Hanak, Guido and Taladay Law Firm in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Attorney Bankovich is well-versed in a broad range of practice areas and has over 20 years of experience.
Attorney Bankovich graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991 and Ohio Northern University Claude W. Petit College of Law in 1995. She has been admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania since 1995.
Albert L. Varacallo III
Albert L. Varacallo III is an attorney with the Hanak, Guido and Taladay Law Firm in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Attorney Varacallo is a recent addition to the practice and assists and supports the veteran attorneys in the practice over a wide variety of cases, including but not limited to Estate Planning and Administration, Business and Corporate, and Real Estate.
Attorney Varacallo graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 2010 and Duquesne University School of Law in 2013. He has been admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania since 2013.
